Description
Provides excellent customer service and patient care in the orthopedic clinic setting.
This is a PRN position.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Healthcare Technical Training school with certification or experience equivalent approved by the supervising physician.
  • Minimum one year clinic experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in an orthopedic clinic preferred.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner keeping in mind they may not feel well and possibly concerned for their health.
  • Performs services in accordance with Cogdell Memorial Hospital and Orthopedic Clinic policies.
  • Performs general nursing care for patients.
  • Performs vitals, communicating/documenting symptoms and any concerns patient has for the visit.
  • Reviews and documents all medications.
  • Assists physicians and/or mid-level practitioners during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
  • Performs general clerical and office duties.
  • Makes/documents referrals as requested by physician in a timely manner.
  • Returns phone calls promptly and courteously.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationship with physicians, support staff, patients, orthopedic clinic staff and all other hospital personnel.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of supportive equipment used in the clinic.
REQUIREMENTS:
•Support CMH's mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy
•Adhere to the CMH Compliance Program
•Assures/maintains compliance with all accreditation, statutory and regulatory standards at the local, state, and federal levels
•Maintains in current status, licenses/certifications and memberships in applicable professional organizations
•Participates in department meetings by attending team business meetings and offering ideas/solutions in problem solving situations/activities
•Comply with all organizational policies
•Demonstrate outstanding customer service/advocacy, professionalism and integrity
•Adjust work hours/schedule to meet the needs and demands of the department and hospital
•Participates in appropriate Quality Improvement (QI) for the Clinic.
•Participates as a member of the Professional Advisory Group.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • General practice medicine and medical terminology.
  • Standard diagnostic and medical equipment and instruments
  • Proficient Microsoft computer skills.
Additional Requirements with or without Reasonable Accommodation :
Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, communicate in English, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 51-100 lbs, perceive depth.
Conditions include working inside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, working closely with others, working alone, working protracted or irregular hours. Exposure to body fluids and/or infection from disease-bearing specimens, exposure to chemicals/biohazardous/radioactive substances, exposure to explosive/flammable chemicals or gases, exposure to patient/visitors under a wide variety of circumstances.
Mental demands include; alertness, analytic ability, memory, concentration, judgment, initiative, precision, creativity and communication.
